In Rhode Island, NECHPI has filed comments on the Renewable Energy Standard while also participating in their State’s Distributed Generation Stakeholders Working Group.
Policies and Programs
Rhode Island's existing Policies and Programs include (click on a link to follow to a program page):
- National Grid Electric's CHP Program: Combination of energy efficiency, performance rebates, and advanced gas technology incentives.
- Commercial Scale Renewable Energy Grants: For CHP systems that use an eligible fuel source.
- Energy Revolving Loan Fund
- Rhode Island Energy Efficiency Resource Standard: Legislation requiring utilities to support the installation of CHP systems at commercial, industrial, institutional, and municipal facilities, and requiring each utility to detail in its annual plan how it will do so.
