In Massachusetts, NECHPI supported the creation of the Distributed Generation Interconnection Working Group, and later participated regularly and actively in the Working Group (Docket 11-75-A). NECHPI has also been active in supporting the inclusion of CHP into the Alternative Portfolio Standard.

- Utility Energy Efficiency Program: pays between $750 and $1100 per kW for qualifying CHP systems
- Community Clean Energy Resiliency Initiative: offering $40M for projects improving electrical resiliency at critical infrastructure, CHP included
